The head of the European Chambers of Commerce (Eurocamara),Hans Witsenboer, recently admonished the Dominican Republic’s efforts to develop renewable energy and combat climate change.

Also address was the Dominican’s goal of reaching 5% of energy generated by renewables by 2020 and how this effort needs to be more aggressive given the EU’s goal of 45% by 2030.

While its not entirely fair to judge the DR to the strong economies that backstop the EU, there is still a lot that needs to be done in the DR to progress their renewable goals.

Come hear from the leaders in the Dominican Republic energy sector at the 2015 Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF 2015 | Miami | Oct 19-21) and learn how they are going to achieve these goals.
